Will a new Bingo concept being trialed in Meath, Eastern Ireland help revive the ailing bricks and mortar Bingo industry.
Since the inception of the smoking ban, bricks and mortar Bingo halls have seen a decline in the amount of customers coming through their doors, for those who previously enjoyed playing bingo and smoking though, Drive in Bingo might just be the option you are looking for.
Seamus Davis, organiser of the event, said it is starting to gain in popularity and he thinks it will continue to grow.
“It’s … a great laugh and there’s been a lot of positive reaction. You can relax in your own car … and enjoy the game and not worry about parking,” he added.
The biggest attraction for people is the opportunity to take up smoking with their bingo games again, something that many people appear to enjoy.
It is also taking place in a number of other counties in the island, including Dublin and Wexford.
Mr Davis remarked once people get there, all they have to do is buy a book and turn their car off, making it very easy for the competitors.
