The Great Daffodil Appeal is Marie Curie's flagship fundraiser which takes place in March and aims to raise more than £5.5million this year.
Throughout the month, everyone across the UK is encouraged to give a donation in return for a Marie Curie daffodil pin. All money raised will allow Marie Curie nurses to provide more free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes. One Bingo Club in Bradford have chosen to help this wonderful Charity and will be raising money all through March.
Peter Campbell, manager at Mecca Bingo in Bradford, said: "Marie Curie Cancer Care is Mecca Bingo's chosen charity for this year and as part of our commitment to raising money for the charity we're supporting its flagship appeal. This is the second year we'll be taking part in the campaign and we hope to build on the success from last year. Our 'budding' fundraisers are geared up and ready to help raise as much money as they can for such a worthy organisation."
Brenda Doyle, community fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: "The Great Daffodil Appeal is a key event in the charity's calendar and it's great to have the support of Mecca Bingo customers and team members. We hope that everyone across Bradford will wear their daffodil pin this March, helping the charity raise funds and awareness of Marie Curie Nurses who make it possible for terminally people to have the care they need at home in their final days."
