A person who enjoys playing blackjack online will eventually have to build some kind of playing strategy. It is difficult to place the words "blackjack" and "strategy" in the same sentence, because they relay don't go well together. Blackjack is a game that flows, and most players who sit down to play, are usually content to invest a few pounds, play for as long as they can, and if they come out of their session ahead then they regard it as a bonus.
However there are those who have been playing blackjack online for a while and have developed strategies so that they can take as much as they can out of the game. These strategies can be separated into two very different directions.
They are:
To play for entertainment. That means plating for as long as they can without topping up their money too often, enjoy them and regard winning as a bonus.
To play to win, to try and double-guess the casino software and come out on front.
Whichever direction the player chooses for their strategy, there is one thing that they have to bear in mind. In an online situation it is mathematically impossible to win every hand at blackjack. Theoretically, in a land casino, the law of infinity does exist and a player can win every hand that is dealt to them. In online casinos that is not the case. The software has been programmed in such a way that the percentages will gradually wear down a player who stays too long at the table, and even more so when their betting is totally consistent.
Generally speaking, players who win six hands out of ten makes a profit, and loses six hands out of ten makes a loss. But that is not necessarily true.
If a player bets the same amount all the time, the odds will wear them down. Bear in mind that betting the same amount doesn't mean increasing their stake when splitting or doubling down, more altering the size of their bet.
It works this way. Let's say that a player varies the value of their bet over ten hands, in ten to one decreasing sequence. In other words the first hand in the sequence the player starts with a bet of ten pounds, the second nine, and so on. Once they get to one, the build back up again to ten. That way they are spreading their risk. While the algorithms that is built into the casino software will give the house a 2% average, altering the bet value could return part of that advantage back to the player.
One of the greatest advantages that an online blackjack player has is that they are never under pressure. They can take all the time in the world to place their bets and vary their size. Add that to the ability to play as a guest gives a player a lot of time to develop a strategy of their own. Being able to control all the hands on the table is also a definite plus in developing a winning blackjack strategy
